  Job Opportunity for CASAC professionals at 822 CD Program, Monday - Friday. Hours of operation Mon-Thursday 8AM - 7PM, Friday, 8AM - 7PM; Satuday, 10AM - 2PM
 
 

CASAC Counselor with appropriate supervision, perform a wide variety of tasks and activities designed to affect the lasting recovery and rehabilitation of individuals with illness of alcohol and drug abuse. Such activities include group and individual counseling, patient assessment and treatment planning, case management and other assigned responsibilities that deal directly with the reversing of negative behavior characteristics. Counselors are assigned to the treatment component of the multi-disciplinary program and as such, their counseling sessions and other assigned duties in accord with the program’s day-to-day schedule of activities, the programs OASAS-approved workscope, such as daily required units of service delivery and the comprehensive needs of each counselor caseload. Many services provided by counselors, as members of a medically supervised clinical team are Medicaid and contribute to the organization’s financial viability and ability to provide quality services to a low-income patient. Counselors perform services as members of a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians.

REQUIRED: Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) and at least two (2) years related experience in the behavioral health field.
