CREATE, Inc. is pleased to announce
its MICA PROGRAM AT CREATE, INC.
The goal
of the program is to provide much needed services to consumers
presenting issues with substance abuse and/or dependence,
as well as a psychiatric condition/diagnosed mental disorder.
In addition to medical supervision, we provide services
offered by our staff psychologist and psychiatrist. Our
psychiatrist is available to provide psychiatric screenings/assessments,
ongoing outpatient psychiatric care, and psychiatric medication,
as needed. Our psychologist provides psychological evaluations,
reports for various agencies (ACS, HRA, SSI/SSD, etc.),
ongoing individual psychotherapy and group therapy.
In addition to individual sessions with our psychologist,
we offer an intensive PSYCHOLOGIST'S
MICA GROUP SEQUENCE that provides the structured
support essential to ensure the success of our MICA clients.
The following group topics are covered on a rotating and
as-needed basis:
- Understanding what it means to be a
MICA client and accepting one's disability/mental
diagnosis;
- Setting personal, treatment, and recovery
goals;
- Enhancing personal motivation to sustain
change and prevent relapse;
- Medication adherence
and learning to work with one's psychiatrist for success;
- Improving interpersonal relationships with peers,
family and spouse/partner;
- Children, childcare,
and parenting issues;
- Maintaining boundaries and
safety in relationships/preventing violence;
- Regulating
emotions and impulses;
- Self-calming techniques/anger
management;
- Spirituality, the12-Step philosophy,
role of meetings, self-help, and role of peers in
recovery;
- Maintaining good self-care and good
hygiene; and,
- Dating issues, having sex without
drugs, and safer sex/H/V/STD prevention.
At the same
time, the PSYCHOLOGIST'S MICA GROUP
SEQUENCE is sufficiently
flexible to address where clients are in the "Here
and now" of the group experience, ensuring that an
individualized, holistic, and tailored approach is
taken to each client, meeting his or her needs on any
given day.
Thus, through our MICA PROGRAM
AT CREATE, we are proud
to offer new and revitalized services to our surrounding
community and the greater New York Metropolitan region.
This includes a new van service with pick-up and drop-off
of clients for those programs able to send us a minimum
of 10 clients each morning. Also, clients will receive
what we have long been known for: a delicious and nutritious
luncheon meal in our spacious and clean facility: a state-of-the-art
computer room for clients; and, a vocational services
department that is a source of pride.
When you think of
what your clients need, remember to make CREATE, INC.
your #1 referral source. Why? Because...
We are manifesting something great at CREATE!!!
